Shepard Fairey

Frank Shepard Fairey (born February 15, 1970) is an American contemporary graphic designer, and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding scene. The popular graffiti artist otherwise known as Obey came to worldwide notoriety in 1989 with the Obey Giant sticker campaign, and gained further fame during the 2008 U.S. Presidential campaign for his Barack Obama ‘Hope’ poster. He has been the subject of a major article in Time Magazine, has a highly popular clothing line, and even has work included in collections at The Smithsonian, the Museum Of Modern Art, the National Portrait Gallery and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
